Rehman welcomes the announcement by the Airport Commission that they have ruled out proposals for an airport in the Thames Estuary.
Rehman has been part of the campaign against such an airport and many residents have raised concerns about the idea, which would have a detrimental impact on Kent and Medway.
In an article for the Kent on Sunday, Rehman outlined the negative effects an airport would have on the area and in a joint article with the Leader of Medway Council, Cllr Rodney Chambers, he argued that there are better solutions such as using existing capacity at airports.
Rehman has also previously raised this issue at Prime Minister’s Questions and hosted a discussion on a study by the British Trust for Ornithology which showed the environmental impact on such an airport.
