Rehman appeared at Maidstone Borough Council's Local Plan Review public hearings to speak against the unacceptable proposal by Maidstone Borough Council to build 2,000 homes at Lidsing, which is directly across the boundary line from Hempstead in Gillingham & Rainham and would have serious negative impacts on residents across the constituency.
Rehman has opposed the development since it was first proposed, including submitting a petition to Parliament outlining opposition to the proposal, submitting full representations to Maidstone Borough Council in 2020 and 2021, attending a local community protest, as well as writing to the Secretary of State for Housing.
