The Communities Minister Brandon Lewis MP has welcomed the roll out of a new firefighting system to the fire service in Medway.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service are introducing a new system which uses a superfine mist to reduce the temperature in buildings and so firefighters can enter property more quickly and safely.
The new system also uses less water and generally causes less damage to property.
In a Parliamentary Question, local Member of Parliament Rehman Chishti asked the Minister to: "join me in welcoming the introduction by Kent Fire and Rescue Service of a new system in Medway that helps to reduce damage caused by fire."
The Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, Brandon Lewis MP replied: "I am happy to congratulate Kent fire and rescue service on its work. When I visited its headquarters recently, I observed some of the innovative work that it is doing in both protecting the front line and making savings by, for instance, sharing its call centre with the police. I hope that fire services across the country will learn from that innovative way of working."
