Rehman toured the new minor injuries unit on his visit to Medway Hospital on Friday (22 January 2016).
The new £2 million facility includes a specially designed waiting room and new triage bays.
The modernised unit in the Emergency Department had not been refurbished for over 15 years, and was frequently overcrowded.
Rehman also visited the Oliver Fisher Special Care Baby Unit, the charity he is supporting in next month’s half marathon challenge.
The Trust, which supports the Baby Unit at Medway Hospital, is aiming to raise £200,000 this year to redevelop its Transitional Care Unit – a dedicated area so that babies and mothers can stay together.
The local MP will be competing in the Headcorn Half Marathon on Sunday 14 February and there is still time to give your support. Donations to the Oliver Fisher Special Care Baby Trust can be made through the JustGiving site –https://www.justgiving.com/Rehman-Chishti2/
